Impressing Anti-Cancer Properties of Carrier Oils

Also a number of vegetal or fat oils have come into focus over the last years in terms of their anti-cancer properties. These vegetal oils play a major role in Aromatherapy for wellness massage, therapeutic massage as well for oral absorption together with essential oils.

Since the pioneer discoveries of Dr. Johanna Budwig on the effects of Flax seed oil with its Omega fatty acids as Cancer preventive and Cancer curative agents a number of vegetal oils have stepped into the forefront of oncological research. In Germany it was Dr. Johanna Budwig, Central Government’s Senior Expert for fats and pharmaceutical drugs who started already in the 1960ies research on Cancer and Omega-oils. Her research has shown the tremendous effects that commercially processed fats and oils have in destroying cell membranes and lowering the voltage in the cells of the human body, which then results in chronic and terminal diseases.

The Cells of our Body Fire Electrically

Dr. Budwig spoke of „solar food“ recognizing the connection between quantum mechanics, human bio-chemistry and physiological well-being. She concluded that electron-rich food acts as a solar-resonant field in the body to attract, store and conduct the sun’s photonic energy in our bodies.

Dr. Budwig stated: “Electrons are already a constituent of matter, even though they are also in continual movement. Electrons love photons attracting each other due to their magnetic fields. Dr. Budwig discovered that when unsaturated oils have been chemically treated (like in processed margarine for example), their unsaturated qualities are destroyed and the field of electrons removed. This commercial processing of fats destroys the field of electrons that the cell membranes (60-75 trillion cells) in our bodies must have to fire properly, i.e. function properly.

Dr. Budwig noted: “The formation of tumours usually happens as follows: In those body areas which normally host many growth processes, such as in the skin and membranes, the glandular organs, for example, the liver and pancreas or the glands in the stomach and intestinal tract – it is here that the growth processes are brought to a standstill.

Dr. Budwig pointed out that cancer growth can be reversed by providing the simple foods, cottage cheese and flax seed oil, which revises the stagnated growth processes. As Dr. Budwig puts it: “The battery is dead because the electrons in these (healthy) fats and oils normally recharge it.” When the electrons are destroyed the fats are no longer active and cannot flow into the capillaries and through the fine capillary networks. This is when circulation problems arise.

Or as said by the 1937 Hungarian Medicine Nobel laureate Albert von Szent-Gyorgyi: “All of life depends on a small trickle of electrons from the sun.”  Referring to highly charged single electrons, which are involved in transmitting their energy to the human body.

Without the proper metabolism of fats in our bodies every vital function and every organ is affected. This includes the generation of new life and new cells. Our bodies produce over 500 million new cells daily. Dr. Budwig pointed out that in growing new cells, there is a dipolarity between the nucleus and the cell membrane with it’s high unsaturated fatty acids. During cell division the cell and new daughter cell must contain enough electron rich fatty acids in the cells surface area to divide off completely from the old cell. When this process is interrupted the body begins to die. Neem Oil

Nimbolide – a bioactive terpenoid compound found in the Neem oil – may shrink prostate tumors by as much as 70 percent while suppressing metastasis by about 50 percent when taken orally for three months. The plant compounds have also shown potential as anti-colon cancer agents. Nimbolide also induces apoptosis in breast cancer, hepato-carcinoma, cervical cancer, choriocarcinoma, colon cancer, lymphoma, leukemia, and melanoma cells. Black Cumin (Nigella sativa)

The manifold curative and preventive power of Black cumin is a reason why it was called a ‘Panacea’ (Greek =‘cure all’) or ‘Habbah Sawda’ or ‘Habbat el Baraka’ (Arabic = ‘seeds of blessing)’. Sea Buckthorn oil

Most of the work done in this area has been with laboratory animals. A group in India at the Department of Radiation Biology, Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, in Delhi has published several reports on the potential of a hippophae extract to protect the bone marrow from damage due to radiation; his group also showed that the extract may help faster recovery of bone marrow cells.

In China, a study was done to demonstrate faster recovery of the hemo-poietic system after high dose chemotherapy (with 5-FU) in mice fed the sea buckthorn oil. The total is more than the collection of parts

Aromatherapy deals with the complexity of Nature. For modern science it is “natural” to isolate compounds and try to find the so-called active ingredients. However, increasing scientific research shows that the totality of an essential oil or a medicinal plant is often more than the parts. In many cases isolated compounds identified as “active ingredients” do not have the same curative impact as their “bio-chemical partners” in a synergistic togetherness of compounds.

This is well shown for example in Bergamot oil and its powerful effects on neuroblastoma, cancer of the nervous system. Bergamot essential oil has been found to inhibit the survival and proliferation of SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells, through the activation of multiple pathways leading to both necrotic and apoptotic cell death.

Russo et al. (2013) showed that association of limonene and linalyl acetate, but not the expo-sure to the single compounds, caused significant cytotoxicity, suggesting for a major role of the combined action of these mono-terpenes in cancer cell death induced by Bergamot essential oil. What about Thyme essential oil?

A 2010 study done in Switzerland evaluated a number of essential oils against MCF-7 breast cancer cells, A-549 lung cancer cells, and PC-3 prostate cancer cells. Or Frankincense oil?

According to research done by University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Associate Professor H.K. Lin, Ph.D., various species of frankincense (Boswellia) essential oil are unparalleled as a cancer solution. Boswellia carterii induces bladder tumour cells, meaning that it targets cancerous cells by killing them and leaves the healthy cells alone. Boswellia carterii and Santalum album (Sandalwood) both kill cancer, but do so in different ways, which suggests that the two taken together are more efficient. Boswellia sacra may be effective for advanced breast cancers as well as for cancer prevention. Baylor University Medical Centre, USA, found that a key property which makes frankincense so effective is:
„that it regulates cells on an epigenetic level – epigenetic means how the genes express themselves in response to their environment.“ In this case it means that the frankincense oil influences the genes to promote healing. The potency of frankincense oil is so great the scientists said it’s viable to work both as cancer prevention and treatment, plus it helps magnify the benefits of other natural cancer treatment plans. It is necessary however to add to the comments with regards to the often quoted active ingredient of Frankincense, namely boswellic acid (AKBA). AKBA is not contained in the diverse Frankincense oils being a too heavy molecule to get „caught“ during the distillation or even extraction process (Hexane, CO2). It is only found in the resin and its powdered or ethanolic extracts. Which does not mean that there are not other compounds in Frankincense oils such as beta-elemene for example which are highly potential research candidates for having positive effects on treating cancer.

As always: the collection of compounds is the trick. A good anti-cancer approach with regards to Frankincense would certainly be to take into consideration.

• Using powdered Frankincense resin or ethanolic extracts internally
• Using different types of Frankincense oils in synergistic blends

In her book „Essential Oil Cancer Research“, Nicole Stevens points out that oils of

• Douglas Fir
• Galbanum
• Patchouli
• Sandalwood
• Thyme and
• Tsuga canadensis

are all more effective than Frankincense against cervical cancer, each displaying inhibitory activity of more than 90% on cancer cells. Frankincense ranked at 72.1%. Sandalwood was also effective against prostate cancer, breast cancer and skin cancer whereas Frankincense oil did not display any effectiveness in these areas.

Frankincense, on the other hand, has shown remarkable effects against cerebral edema which can happen when their brain tumour has been removed. In 2011, a clinical trial evaluating 44 individuals monitored Frankincense as a remedy for cerebral edema instead of using steroids. In 60% of the patients, the swelling was reduced by 75% or more. And Myrrh oil?

Studies at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in 2011 showed that also Myrrh oil, another essential oil from resins, has been found to have anti-cancer benefits. Researchers found that Myrrh inhibited growth in eight different types of cancer cells, specifically gynecological cancers. Although further research is needed to determine exactly how to use Myrrh for cancer treatment, this initial research is promising. (cf. Clove oil

The most exciting and promising research on Clove essential oil relates to its anti-cancer benefits. Most of the researchers who study clove essential oil for any length of time agree it has great promise ? not only for its ability to kill cancer cells, but as a natural chemo-preventive (cancer prevention) agent. Clove essential oil has been found to have cytotoxic properties against a line of breast, oesophagus, and colon cancer cell.

And finally Oregano oil

Dr. Supriya Bavadekar, assistant professor of pharmacology at Long Island University, has been leading a group testing carvacrol, a major constituent of Oregano oil, on prostate cancer cells. Essential Oils a Holistic Therapy in Case of Cancer

To conclude: There is definitely more than just hope on the horizon for holistic healing of cancer. All this shows that we have reasons enough to use Aromatherapy for prevention and even treatment of multiple forms of tumorous formations. But even though the research on Cancer and essential oils is striking, standard mainstream cancer therapies – and interest groups linked to them – will continue to have a watchful eye on innovative treatments of such collective “epidemics” as is cancer.

The Challenge for Change in the Patient’s Hands

The main reason for this resistance – we know this – is definitely financial. Natural remedies cannot be patented, and – if collectively applied – this would mean enormous profit loss for the big pharma. Also, not to forget: for a medical doctor to propose to his patient to exchange main-stream allopathic therapies against natural solutions is for the majority too high a risk. Approaching the Hidden Causes of Diseases

So then, there is hope on the horizon with more and more people on Planet Earth looking out for Nature as the best ally for healing – and with this: seeking a deeper meaning of life and its multiple challenges. Time has come to dig into the hidden causes of diseases – and with that – as we humans have done with our research in physics and other sciences over the past decades – reach out to the “quantum level“ of healing (and even beyond that) and understand the collective, environmental, social and psycho-spiritual implications of our modern life-style.

HUMANITY IS ON THE WAY

Let me conclude with some thoughts on cancer from Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy:
„… tumorous formations of every kind … arise primarily from the actual enmity of certain processes within the physical body against the action of the etheric body. These processes rebel as it were, so that the etheric body ceases to act in certain regions of the physical body. The etheric body, however, has very great powers of regeneration and the methods of spiritual science reveal that if it is possible to remove the hindrance and to expel the inimical action, the tumour can be overcome.”

So again: Steiner in essence emphasizes here the importance of our energy body or “body of Light”. This sounds like the “photo-repair” of the human system on one side mentioned by Prof. Popp and the break-down of the inter-cellular coherent light emission on the other side in case of cancer.

Why should we not think of using more those medicinal plants and their essential oils which seem to have a direct connection with the re-enforcement of the etheric or energy body in Man due to their intrinsic connection with Light or OJAS ?

In our modern combat against major plagues of our societies such as cancer we better stretch out the hands of our Soul to that invisible source of Light which was there since the beginning of time and which Mother Nature in her eternal grace has since ever given to us through the world of plants in so many incredible ways!
